Sharon

Sharon joined forces with Andy in 2005 after working
in railway signalling for 13 years.

Moving back to her childhood home in
Holcombe, she took on various community-based
roles and  also worked as a Presiding Officer for local/general elections and aims to continue in the same vein at Ducks Paddle.

Married to Andy, she says happily....

Andy

Cornish born printer of 40-plus years, beginning in Sherriff Textiles printing tea towels and aprons until starting Lemonade in 1996 and moving into garment printing.

Married, very happily, to Sharon.

Non-resident, but vitaly important

Tina & Ceri

Tina, Sharon's sister, and significant other Ceri Stafford.
Met on Lundy and hooked up.

They have had an untold influence on Ducks' and put in so much hard work that it makes us humble.

Ceri is a proof-reader among his other talents and has taken it upon himself to police the grammar and syntax on the site;
If you would like him to do the same for any publications of yours please get in touch.

We really could not have made so much headway at Ducks' without you guys!

Meshaw Moor

I have added the moor as it is what Ducks Paddle evolved from,
as can be seen from the old Devon Banks separating the garden from the field on the cottage side.

It is what many parts of mid and north Devon would have once looked, smelt, felt and sounded like.

Its patchwork of small irregular shaped fields are bounded by hedges.
The fields themselves are classic Culm and flower-rich hay meadows, alive with life that moves out from the protection of the moor into places like Ducks Paddle.

Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead, there are frequently grazing animals in the reserve.

Oggie

Stephen has been a rock, helping us to move here and taking time out to regularly come down and stay over, and clear the jungle, on both sides of the lane, that was here when we first arrived.

Now the majority of serious clearing and demolition has been  accomplished he enjoys a more relaxed weekend away!
